The Takeaway:  One of the best options in Central Washington, this Jim Engh design uses creative earth moving to doll up a relatively flat parcel of ground and create a good, affordable golf experience. Certainly worth the stop if you are in the area but not a course you’d build a trip around.  Grade C-

What to Expect:  Located in the Tri-Cities of Central Washington, Columbia Point is a wide open course of moderate length. The natural terrain is pretty flat but a significant number of moguls and hills were created to give some separation from the holes and surroundings. Jim Engh did a great job with a less than inspiring parcel of ground and was able to create some memorable holes including the risk/reward finishing par five. The course, located between the interstate and the Columbia River, has a half links half parkland type feel which is highly playable for all skill levels. Columbia Point is not one of the elite level courses in the Pacific Northwest, but it is certainly an above average muni and one of the better Central Washington tracks.
