What to Expect:  Birch Creek is a great municipal course that somehow manages to stay under the radar, potentially due to its location ten miles north of Logan, UT. The course is always in excellent shape and presents itself as one of the best courses you can play for less than $30. The opening few holes are somewhat benign before the course cranks it up with some adrenaline inducing holes that play over and around a canyon. The back nine features more elevation changes than the front, none more severe than the finishing hole that plays up to a severely elevated green. The course offers average length that is still a test without being punishing. The fairways are relatively wide and you are often afforded a decent chance to recover and save par if your tee shot sprays out into a neighboring hole. In the end, Birch Creek is the best course in Northern Utah and is well worth playing if traveling between Southeastern Idaho and Northern Utah.
